Look Up Your Computer's Device Name

Every computer that is managed by the Central IT Service Group has a "device name." These instructions explain how to find your computer's device name.

Device Names on Windows

  1. Click the Search icon (magnifying glass) next to the Start menu on the Windows taskbar.
  2. Type name, then click View your PC name in the search results.
  3. On the About screen, under the heading Device specifications, find your Device name (for example, "OIT-PQS665-L").

Device Names on Mac

  1. Click the Apple logo in the upper left corner, then click System Preferences.

  2. Click the Sharing folder icon. On the next screen, your device name is listed at the top (for example, "OIT-PQS665-ML").
