Look Up Your Computer's Device Name


Every computer that is managed by the DFA/CIT Service Group has a "device name." These instructions explain how to find your computer's device name.

Device Names on Windows

  1. Right-click the Computer icon on the desktop and select Properties.
  2. On the next screen, look in the Computer name: field. This is your device name, for example OIT-PQS665-L.

Device Names on Mac

  1. Click the Apple logo in the upper left corner and select System Preferences.
  2. Click the Sharing folder icon. On the next screen, your device name is listed at the top, for example OIT-PQS665-ML.
