Use Your Alias with Your Email Client

This article applies to: Cornell Optional Email Alias

After you have received confirmation of your new alias, you can tell Office 365 whether to use your address or your address as the "reply-to" address associated with your outgoing email messages.

A setting in Who I Am controls the reply-to address for all Office 365 email clients.

When you're ready to select your alias,

  1. Go to
  2. Click the Email tab.
  3. Under Advanced Options, look for the section labeled Choose your primary email address.
    If you don't see this section, this means that you don't have an alias, or you recently requested an alias but haven't received the "it's ready to use" confirmation yet.

  4. Select the address you want to use.
  5. Click Update (at the bottom of the page).
