Terms of Service for SMS and Text Messaging
Cornell University community members who opt-in to receive SMS and text messages from applications including RingCentral should be aware of the following terms of service:
No Consent Sharing for Marketing Purposes
No mobile opt-in or text message consent will be shared with third-parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
Types of Messages Distributed
Recipients can expect conversational messaging, similar to SMS or texts exchanged between mobile devices including updates about your building, service, or other relevant information.
SMS and Text Message Disclosures for Recipients
Upon consent, recipients can expect to receive confirmation from the SMS sender with standard SMS and text message disclosures, such as:
“You have consented to receive conversational SMS from this Cornell University departmental service provider. Reply STOP to opt-out; Reply HELP for support; Message and data rates apply; Messaging frequency may vary. Visit our Privacy and Terms of Service pages.”
