At the Emerging Tech Dialogs: Future of Work II event on April 1, team members from the CIT Communication & Documentation group hosted a breakout session to explore how the Cornell audience prefers to stay informed about IT-related updates and news. The question explored relates to changes coming about through CEMI and Resilient Cornell: should IT professionals shift the way they communicate with their constituents?

In a Nutshell

Two polls conducted during the session suggest that a morning email remains popular as a way of receiving information (only made more effective by adding coffee—and possibly cupcakes provided by the CIO).

Poll: Select up to three ways that you prefer to receive news related to the IT community.

The future of IT-related announcements

The lively group discussions brought up other ideas about how CIT can help the entire Cornell community get the IT-related updates that our service providers need you to know. The Comm & Doc group heard several good ideas during the sessions, and is evaluating how best to implement a few. (Side note: you probably shouldn’t expect cupcakes from the CIO.)
