Microsoft has announced that, effective May 23, 2022, the mobile app Outlook for Android will no longer be supported on Android version 7.1 or earlier.

If you have Outlook for Android installed on your mobile device, make sure your device is running Android version 8 or higher. If not, upgrade Android before the cut-off date, replace your mobile device with one compatible with a current version of Android, or use Outlook on the web (requires Cornell login) in a current version of your web browser.

For information about checking the version of Android on your mobile device, visit Google’s Check & update your Android version page.

Because Outlook for Android will no longer receive updates after the May 23 cut-off date, users are strongly cautioned against continuing to use the app after support has been discontinued. Unsupported apps and programs pose a serious security risk to your personal data.

For current software requirements of Office mobile apps, visit Microsoft 365 and Office Resources, Mobile apps and click the Mobile apps heading to expand the specifications section.
