By now you have heard about how a passkey can help protect you from phishing, improve a client’s login experience, and safeguard your NetID when hackers target Cornell. When it debuted, the Secure Connect passkey put Cornell at the forefront of login authentication security.

A lot has changed since then, but what hasn’t changed is that hackers haven’t let up on our community. To extend passkey safety to as many staff and faculty as possible, Secure Connect allows you to unlock a passkey on a Cornell-managed device with your device’s password or PIN (Windows Hello).

Take this opportunity to register a Secure Connect passkey on your device, and engage the strongest defense against someone hacking your account!

Using a passkey with a fingerprint or face ID will remain the most secure way to safeguard your account, and is still required to use Secure Connect on personal devices.
