One of the most common challenges with any technology change, as anyone who has built a career in IT knows, is guiding people to adopt new ways of working. As Cornell prepares for the transformation that the Cornell Experience Modernization Initiative (CEMI) will bring, knowing how to manage that challenge will be a critical skill.
To strengthen that skill across the IT community, one-day orientation training sessions in Prosci (said as “pro-sigh”) organizational change management are being offered to all IT staff. The training explains the science behind change resistance and equips participants with practical tools and strategies to make technology transitions smoother - both for themselves and their colleagues. These tools can be applied immediately to current projects, while preparing us for CEMI's larger transformations.
Training sessions will be offered by Organizational Development both online and in-person throughout 2025. The full-day sessions (9am-4pm) are available at no cost to all IT staff, reflecting leadership's commitment to helping the IT community transform how work gets done.
Ithaca-based staff can sign up through this Workday Learning link (or search for HR 2071). Weill Cornell Medicine staff can sign up by emailing workshop-info@cornell.edu. As sessions fill, more dates will be added.
