The CourseLeaf project, which will allow the University to streamline, update, and improve several aspects of the academic business cycle, has reached an exciting new milestone with the successful implementation of two of its three modules.
Catalog (CourseLeaf CAT): Second Catalog Publication
The CAT module generates and maintains the University Catalog. With the first successful publication of the Catalog last summer, the project team is now preparing to launch the 2026-27 academic year Catalog in June 2026.
Update your bookmarks for the University Catalog (formerly known as "Courses of Study") to catalog.cornell.edu. Any URL starting with courses.cornell.edu is a redirect that will expire.
Section Scheduler (CourseLeaf CLSS) Launched in May 2025
The CLSS module allows colleges, schools, and academic departments to submit class schedules and make section edits each term. The Winter 2026 through Fall 2026 semesters have already been scheduled in CLSS, and the Winter 2027 and Spring 2027 edits will open in May.
CLSS integrates with the University’s room scheduling system, 25Live.
Curriculum Inventory Management (CourseLeaf CIM) Progress on the Horizon
CIM, the final module in the project, kicked off in fall 2025 and has an anticipated launch in the 2028 calendar year.
The CIM module provides workflow and approval processes for all course and academic program changes, including new proposals and edits to existing offerings. This tool will replace inefficient and outdated curriculum management workflows, and will integrate with the CAT module and the Student Information System.
