November Google Quota Change for Recent Alumni

This article applies to: Cornell Google Workspace for Students

In November, recent graduates' affiliation changes from student to alumni. Alumni Google accounts, including email and Drive, are limited to 5 Gigabytes (GB).

If an account is larger than 5 GB when the change occurs, it will no longer send or receive email, and no more files can be uploaded until storage is reduced below 5 GB. Alumni accounts that are not reduced below 5 GB by two months after the change will be deleted.

If your account is locked in November when you transition to alumni, you may request it be unlocked. This will restore full functionality to the account, but storage still must be reduced below 5 GB.

If the account is still over 5 GB two months after the account change (around mid-January) it will be deleted and all email and files in it will be gone permanently.

if you agree to reduce your storage below 5 GB, click the link below to fill out the request form and unlock your account.

I'd like to request my Cornell Google account be unlocked. I understand it must be reduced below 5 GB or the account and all its contents will be deleted.

Notifications about the change are sent to affected accounts starting in July and continue until the change occurs.
