Delete Computer Object Containing Child Object(s)
This article explains how to delete child objects within a computer object.

When attempting to delete a computer object, you may receive the following error:
Object "Some Computer Object (cornell.edu/DelegatedObjects/SomeUnit/UnitObjects/Some OU/prefix-YourComputer)" cannot be deleted since it contains other objects.
To delete object "Some Computer Object (cornell.edu/DelegatedObjects/SomeUnit/UnitObjects/Some OU/prefix-YourComputer)" you must first delete all of the objects it contains.
To resolve this error, you will need to delete the computer object.
Delete A Computer Object with Child Object(s)
- Connect to ARS via Quest ActiveRoles console.
- Select the menu tab then select .
- Browse the tree and select the OU where the computer object is located.
- Double-click (or expand) the computer object that you are trying to delete. There should be one or more child object(s) displayed.
- Delete the child object(s) first.
- Delete the computer object.
