Set Document Language

Screen readers use document language to determine pronunciation rules. To make your document accessible, you must set the language.

Word

  1. Select Review.
  2. Select Language.
  3. Select Language Preferences.
  4. Set the language.
  5. Select OK.

InDesign

Language settings are found under Paragraph Style.

  1. Select Paragraph Styles.
  2. Under Menu icon, select New Paragraph Styles.
  3. Select Advanced Character Formats.
  4. Set Language.

Adobe Acrobat

  1. Select File.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Select the Advanced tab.
  4. Under the Reading Options, select the Language.
  5. Select OK.
