Is Two-Step Login for Office 365 Required?

I am required to use Two-Step Login when I log in to a campus service with CUWebLogin.  Will this requirement extend to Office 365 as well?

On January 12, 2021, the mandate for Two-Step Login for Office 365 will be extended to all non-academic staff.

The requirement to use Two-Step Login with CUWebLogin does not automatically extend to Office 365. 

Currently, Two-Step Login for Office 365 is required by selected campus divisions and units for employee email and calendar accounts. You be notified by CIT or your local IT staff if the requirement for Two-Step Login has been added to your Office account.

This is because the sign-in system used with Office 365 is completely separate from CUWebLogin. Choosing or being required to use Two-Step Login for Office 365 is independent of opting in to expanded use of Two-Step Login with CUWebLogin.
