Expand Your Use of Two-Step Login
To better protect yourself against misuse of your NetID and password, you can choose to expand Two-Step Login security to all Cornell services where you log in through the standard Cornell web login page (CUWebLogin).
This is one of the best measures you can take to safeguard your personal information and protect the university against hackers.
To activate this expanded use of Two-Step Login:
- Go to Manage Your Two-Step Login
- Select Expand Where You Use Two-Step Login.
- Select Opt In.
- Confirm your choice by completing the second step of logging in.
To stop using this feature:
- Go to Manage Your Two-Step Login
- Select Expand Where You Use Two-Step Login
- Select Opt Out
Certain campus services, typically ones that grant access to sensitive information, always require Two-Step Login. For these services, you will continue to be prompted by Two-Step Login, regardless of your Opt In or Opt Out choice.
Reduce How Often You Have to Authenticate
To reduce how often you're prompted by Two-Step Login:
- Select the Remember me for 24 hours checkbox on the Two-Step Login authentication prompt.
- For more information, see the full article about Remember me for 24 Hours.
