EZ-Backup and Shared File Services

This article applies to: Shared File Services

EZ-Backup is the former name for backups as a service.

Cohesity is utilized for SFS’s offsite Disaster-Recovery copy. User-requested file restorations are not supported.

Snapshots and replication provide sufficient file restoration/protection for most users, and the offsite Disaster-Recovery copy protects the data in the event of an Ithaca site-level disaster. For these reasons user-driven backups are not normally available, greatly reducing the I/O load on the system.

If you have file restoration/protection requirements which are not met by the snapshot schedules, contact Shared File Services for a discussion of potential options, which may include the use of user-driven Cohesity backups at an additional fee.
