New (2019) Outlook on the web Interface

This article applies to: Outlook on the Web

Microsoft is in the process of transitioning all Outlook on the web users to a newer interface. This transition will occur for each peron at some point during the summer and fall of 2019.

The procedure described here will help you determine which interface you are using and, if you have not already been transitioned, allow you to select either the old or new interface.

  1. Use your browser to go to the Outlook on the web login page:
Note: If you type/tap the URL manually, be sure to use http, not https.
  2. Log in with your own address and NetID password.
  3. Look just below the right end of the red, Cornell-branded Office 365 nav bar.
    • If you do not see a toggle switch, you have been transitioned. You are using the new interface and cannot switch back to the old.
    • If you see a toggle switch, you can select between "the new Outlook" and "the old Outlook." Until you are transitioned, you may switch back and forth whenever you like.
When on the old interface, the toggle text reads "Try the new Outlook." When on the new interface, the toggle text reads "The new Outlook."
