Canvas

Canvas is a web-based course management system used by students and faculty. Canvas makes it easy for instructors to manage materials distribution, assignments, communications, and other aspects of instruction for their courses. This service is available at no cost and is supported for use by all faculty and instructors at Cornell University and extension units.

Canvas provides instructors with:

  • Automated course enrollment.

  • Integration with Zoom for scheduling online course meetings and posting course recordings.

  • Use of existing tools such as TurnItIn, iClicker, and Panopto.

  • Access to existing libraries of teaching resources such as Kaltura videos.

  • Clean integration with Library Reserves (Ares).

Canvas provides students with an easy to use course management system that focuses on student-centered learning.
