On July 25, 2022, storage caps were applied to Cornell alumni Google accounts. Faculty, student, and staff storage caps were added a month previously. 

Alumni Google accounts have a cap of 5 GB if they contained less than 5 gigabytes (GB) combined in Drive, Mail, and Photos when the cap was set. Accounts that contained more than 5 GB have a cap greater than the storage in the account at that time. Caps greater than 5 GB reduce to a lower cap when sufficient content is removed from the account. 

Google Drive and Photos will end for Cornell alumni accounts in July 2023. At that time alumni Gmail account storage will be capped at 5 GB.
