Skype for Business Mac Now Updates Presence from Outlook Meetings

Related services: Web Conferencing

In December, Microsoft released a version of Skype for Business for Mac that automatically updates an individual’s presence status to reflect whether they are in a meeting. If someone has accepted a meeting in Outlook, their presence status in Skype for Business will automatically change to busy at the time the meeting starts, then at the end of the meeting, return to whatever their status was set to before the meeting began. Prior to this update (version 16.13.184) it was necessary to manually update status at meeting times, and the lack of this feature caused some to continue to use Lync for Mac instead. Skype for Business for Mac can be downloaded from within Office 365 or the Microsoft Download Center. Note: Always consult with your IT support provider before attempting to install software.
