Project for New Occupational Health and Safety, Research Health and Safety, and Environmental Protection System

The COHSEC project, short for Cornell Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance, is bringing Cority services to the university. Cority is a software solution and unified data platform that will support collaboration across Cornell and allow management of occupational health and safety, research health and safety, and environmental protection data by one tool instead of many.

The project is cosponsored by EHS and Cornell Health and administered by CIT.

In addition to centralizing data and improving user experience, the project and system will provide dashboards and business intelligence, standardize similar processes, foster streamlining between units, provide program and service improvements, and allow for a comprehensive view of data in these areas.

Cority will integrate with other campus systems, including Workday, PeopleSoft, and facilities data.

The first stage of the project, which began in 2018, is planned to conclude in the first half of 2020 and will make Safety, Occupational Medicine, and an integrated version of Industrial Hygiene modules available. The second stage, planned for conclusion around mid-2021 will deliver Inspections and Research Safety, and Environmental Compliance is expected in mid-to-late 2022.
