Office files in Cornell Box: Real-time co-authoring, plus editing from iPad and iPhone
Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations stored in Cornell Box can now be edited by multiple people at the same time using Office Online apps. This addition puts together the friendly interface, large feature set, and easy usability of Box with the convenience of real-time coauthoring for the most commonly used types of Office files.
Being able to work on a document or spreadsheet at the same time as a coworker means there’s never been a better time to stop emailing files back and forth as attachments and be done with the confusion and crossed signals that come from it. Instead, you can store the file in Box and everyone can work on the same file at the same time.
Along with the new feature, you can also take advantage of all the existing benefits of using Box, including:
- Cloud storage space.
- The option to create short, easy-to-read and remember URLs.
- Control over access ranging from just you to being public to anyone who has the link.
- The ability to review and revert to previous versions of the file.
- And many more helpful features.
Editing isn’t just confined to your computer either. Box for iPad and iPhone now make it possible to edit Office files stored in Box directly from Word, Excel, or PowerPoint apps on your Apple device. Start in your Box or Office app, create or open a file, and make changes on the fly that are automatically saved back to Box.
