New "Out of Office" features in calendar

Microsoft has announced that sometime in the next few weeks, it will be adding new features to "Out of Office" autoreplies in Outlook on the web (

When the changes reach Cornell's Office 365, Cornell faculty and staff who schedule automatic replies using their calendar at will also be able to easily:

  • Block their calendar for the time away
  • Clear existing meetings scheduled for the time away
  • Automatically send a response to incoming invitations while away

All the options will appear in the same panel used to set time-away autoreplies. (Click the Settings gear icon in the upper right, then select Automatic Replies.) All options are off by default. They must be selected before anything will happen.
