Identity Management Day 2023

The third annual Identity Management Day is Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Led by the Identity Defined Security Alliance, in partnership with the National Cybersecurity Alliance, Cornell continues to be a Champion organization for 2023 to help ensure a culture of digital identity security for all. Please share and discuss these resources with your colleagues. Awareness is the first step in protecting your digital identity.

Stay safe online—take steps now to protect your personal information and help avoid identity theft.

  • Own your online presence. Do Your Part. #BeIdentitySmart. Update privacy settings on your devices, social media, and other online services. Your personal information is like currency. Value it. Protect it.
  • Think before you click. Use these tips to spot email scams. Links online and in emails are often how scammers trick you into being compromised. If a link or attachment looks phishy, even if you know the source, confirm before clicking.
  • Shield your password with multi-factor authentication. Protect your personal information, connected devices, and university data with Two-Step Login (Duo).
  • Secure your accounts with strong passwords. Manage passwords safely and use a password manager like Cornell LastPass to simplify your online life and remember all your passwords on any device. Set a unique password or passphrase for each account.
  • Test your knowledge. Check your online safety know-how with a privacy and security quiz. Get started with the National Privacy Test and Google Phishing Quiz.
