Emergency Mass Notification Test Scheduled for Tuesday, October 26

Related services: Certified Desktop

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 12:10pm, the Cornell Office of Emergency Management will conduct another of its period tests of important campus Emergency Mass Notification (EMN) systems (“CornellALERT”).

As with previous tests, expect to receive notifications on registered voice and text messaging numbers, managed desktop and laptop computers on campus, CUView digital signs, and key Cornell social media accounts. During the test, outdoor sirens and public address systems around campus will also sound a test alert.

Tests of the CornellALERT system are performed to ensure the functioning of emergency procedures that will alert authorities and the campus community when an actual emergency occurs and provide instructions for any necessary response.
