CU VPN AnyConnect Clients Will Be Upgraded Starting June 5, 2018

Related services: CU VPN

The CU VPN service is upgrading AnyConnect clients for MacOS, Windows, and Linux computers to version 4.6.00362. The new version of the client will be available starting June 5, 2018.

When users connect to CU VPN for the first time after the upgrade becomes available, they should expect a notification that the upgrade is being downloaded and installed. The process should take about a minute to complete. When the upgrade completes, the new version will launch automatically and connect to CU VPN. Administrative privileges are not required for this AnyConnect self-upgrade.

The AnyConnect upgrade will provide up-to-date security features, improved usability, and better support options. The new version supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10; MacOS 10.11, 10.12, and 10.13 (native 64-bit client); and Linux Red Hat 6 and 7; and Ubuntu 14.04 (LTS) and 16.04 (LTS) (64-bit only). Users whose systems run MacOS 10.10 should be aware that the version is compatible with their systems, but Cisco no longer provides support.

Mobile versions of the iOS and Android Cisco AnyConnect client can be upgraded via the Apple App Store or Google Play respectively.
