CU Blog Service Offers Updated University Branded Web Accessible Theme

Related services: Blogs

The Cornell Blog Service has launched an updated 2017 University Branded Theme, which meets Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 level A and AA web accessibility (WA) standards, and is also responsive to the platform and orientation of the user. Implementing a WA theme ensures that users of various abilities will benefit from your blog site, and it's an essential part of providing the best possible web experience, maximizing your audience reach, complying with web standards, and enhancing search engine optimization (SEO). And that’s not all, look for improved flyout navigation, keyboard accessibility, links visibility, better plugins support, and more. Our previous university branded themes, including the 2015 University Branded Theme, are still available for use.

Additionally, there are many new WA themes available for websites created with the Cornell Blog Service. Choose from 24 WA themes, which are available for preview within the blog dashboard. These new themes will allow you to realize your design aspirations, and make option selection more intuitive and faster to respond. To determine what's involved in choosing a new theme, please refer to Changing Your Blog Theme for more information.
