Cornell DrupalCamp announces keynote, seeks session proposals

Vanessa Turke, a UX researcher and digital strategist, will give the keynote address at Cornell University’s DrupalCamp on Friday, October 7, 2016. Vanessa is the Principal UX Researcher, Digital Strategist and Information Architect at TESSERAC UXD, a web design firm in British Columbia, and is also a consultant for Kanopi Studio—a boutique web design, development and support agency based in San Francisco.

Ms. Turke has been having fun with Drupal since 2006. She started out as a volunteer content creator for a non-profit, then moved into Drupal administration, training and support. She began her full-time career specializing in Drupal as a solutions architect in 2008. She has translated business requirements and website usability research into detailed UX and functional specifications for many different projects including education, ecommerce, publishing, and enterprise. Her keynote, “Dreaming in Drupal,” will entertain and inform in equal parts.

This year, we are planning the camp on Friday during the peak time of Ithaca’s fall foliage. Ithaca will be absolutely “gorges” that weekend, and we encourage conference attendees to stay for the weekend, if possible, and enjoy all that Ithaca has to offer, from hiking trails and wineries, to world-class restaurants. After the conference on Friday, attendees will have the option to join us for Happy Hour at Argos Inn. More information to come soon.

Cost for the full-day camp, including breakfast, lunch, the keynote, networking spaces, and conference sessions, will be only $35. Happy hour and optional dinner out will be on your own. The conference is geared toward developers, programmers, content managers, communications professionals, UX designers, and anyone working with Drupal in any way. Cost for the optional half-day code sprint the day before, geared toward developers and programmers, will be $15.

Registration for DrupalCamp will begin in August, so stay tuned.

Meanwhile. Cornell DrupalCamp is seeking session proposals. If you would like to lead a one-hour session, please read more and fill out the form here:
