Cornell Blogs Service: Abandoned Site Maintenance

Related services: Blogs

The CU Blogs Service team is initiating the process to deactivate abandoned sites in order to provide a streamlined service uncluttered by old, unwanted, unmanaged sites with stale content.

We are reaching out to blog owners who have sites not updated in three or more years, as they qualify for  deactivation (see Service note on Abandoned Blogs). We are requesting that each owner review their site and let us know if it may be deactivated, or why it should be retained to meet a university need. If a site is no longer needed and the owner wants to retain its content, they can export content to keep a copy of the site.

Site owners must review and confirm either deactivation or need to retain a site within 30 days of notification. If a reply is not received, the site will be deactivated. Please note that sites will not be permanently deleted, and can be reactivated if necessary.
