Confluence Restricts Anonymous Access to Prepare for Migration

CIT will move Confluence to an Atlassian certified Vendor Managed and Hosted environment, which will bring us to the latest version. In order to do this an effort is underway to turn off anonymous access on Confluence sites. The current Confluence service has been set globally to allow anonymous access; however, anonymous access makes spaces open to the public and risks potential sharing of content not appropriate for global consumption, along with other security vulnerabilities.

Those who have Confluence sites with anonymous access have been emailed and given until September 30, 2019 to restrict anonymous sites. You can find information on how to restrict anonymous access, as well as how to set permissions for a Confluence site. If you have questions about this change, please email jira-confluence@cornell.edu.
