CIT to offer three Lunch and Learns for new event-management mobile app

Cornell Information Technologies (CIT) will soon offer CU Events, a Cornell-branded event management mobile app, to colleges and units across the Cornell University campus.

The app can be used for large campus-wide events such as homecoming or commencement, or college or unit-level events, conferences, and workshops. CIT covers the main license, and colleges or units can be added for a small fee per year to host unlimited events within that college or unit.

Some of its many features include the ability for event planners to add conference sessions, exhibitor information, sponsor information, advertising, maps, push notifications, and speaker information such as bios, headshots, websites, and file uploads.

End users can create their own personalized schedule, link their social profiles to the app, and make connections with each other at your conference or event. They can use the app to text each other while at the event, or choose to follow each other on the app’s timeline feature (similar to a Facebook news feed). Users choose how much personal information to share with other attendees at your event.

CU Events is available on iOS devices via the iTunes App Store, Android via Google Play, and through web-based browsers. It can be synced to use seamlessly across devices.
