Changes to Office 365 App Launcher

The App Launcher, the component of Office 365’s interface that can be used to quickly switch from one application to another, will have a significant change in the next few weeks. One of the most notable changes is that there will no longer be separate tiles for Mail, Calendar, Tasks, and People. These services will all be reached through a single “Outlook” tile. To switch between them, you’ll click a button in the lower left, similarly to how it’s done in other versions of Outlook.
Another significant change is that the new, more compact app display will include a default set of apps, plus any apps the you’ve opened in the previous 45 days. Clicking “All” will show all apps, and also allow you to pin an app to the main app launcher screen.
