In preparation for the migration from Blackboard to Canvas the Center for Teaching Innovation is offering workshops on Cornell’s new academic learning management system, Canvas. The first faculty to use Canvas will begin in Spring 2019.
Canvas, like Blackboard, provides instructors with tools such as TurnItIn, iClicker, and Panopto, integration with Library Reserves, and automated course enrollment. However, Canvas does a better job at facilitating the development and implementation of new teaching tools, which can then better support Cornell’s efforts to improve student learning.
Faculty can sign up now to use Canvas in Spring 2019.
Faculty can learn more by signing up for workshops that include how to import content from Blackboard directly into Canvas; exploring Canvas by adding content, creating and sharing an announcement, and posting a syllabus; and exploring Canvas’ Gradebook and SpeedGrader.
