Announcing the Cornell Corporate & Foundation Relations Customer Relationship Management Initiative

The Corporate & Foundation Relations CRM Initiative (CFR-CRM) kicked off in January 2020. The project is a partnership among the Office of the Provost, the colleges and schools, Cornell Research,  and Alumni Affairs and Development, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Information Technologies and Chief Information Officer.

The goal of the CFR-CRM initiative is to create a system of shared data and a common set of tools that will enable Cornell staff and faculty to manage relationships with external business entities as they pursue gifts, grants, and sponsored research. 

Cornell Information Technologies (CIT) will lead a 3-4 month discovery effort, followed by development, and work closely with our campus partners to align business processes among colleges and units. The tools will be built using the university’s central instance of Salesforce, a customer relationship management platform that is currently being used to support student engagement.
