The next meeting of the IT Security SIG is Wednesday, August 12, 2020, from 10:30am-noon on Zoom. The IT Security SIG is sponsored by the Cornell IT Security Office.

The IT Security Office provides helpful phishing awareness resources like an up-to-date list of Verified Cornell Communications. Plus, check the Phish Bowl for fraudulent emails targeting Cornell.

Be cautious about any unsolicited offers you receive for internships or jobs. Cornell students are continuing to receive a large of number of fraudulent (phishing) emails with these scam offers, and some students have fallen victim.

CIT has enabled Microsoft Bookings for Cornell faculty and staff who request it. The service is part of the Office 365 Productivity Bundle and allows small organizations and groups to better schedule and coordinate customer appointments.

Beginning soon, CIT Custom Development will launch phased retirement of the Static Web Hosting service. In preparation, no new websites will be added to the service as of July 1, 2020. After that date, existing site owners will continue to be supported, however no new instances will be created...

The Cority enterprise Environmental Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) software service is now live at Cornell.

Zoom now provides system administrators with the option to customize which regional data centers are allowed to handle data for an organization’s meetings and webinars. Beginning May 24, 2020, CIT will opt out of using the mainland China and Hong Kong data centers for data transit.
