Types of Net-Print Accounts
This article applies to: Net-Print
To use Net-Print, you'll need your Cornell NetID, your password, and a Net-Print account.
You can have one or more Net-Print accounts. There are four types of accounts:
- Bursar - available to registered students
- Cash - available to anyone with a Cornell NetID (requires online use of a credit card)
- Course - for students in courses that provide printing allocations
- Departmental - for use by staff and faculty in a particular department or unit
Bursar Account
Bursar accounts are available to registered students. Printing fees are billed to the student's Bursar account.
Summer Session and Continuing Education students do have access to Bursar accounts. Summer College students (high school precollege programs) do not have Bursar access.
Set Up Your Bursar Account for Net-Print
On the Net-Print Signup page, follow the on-screen instructions to set up your account. Your account will be available as soon as you complete the process.
To access the Net-Print Signup page, you need to be connected to the Cornell network, or use the CU VPN service to connect remotely.
Cash Account
Cash accounts are available to anyone in the Cornell community. Cash accounts work like debit cards: first money must be deposited to the account, then printing fees are deducted from that amount as the account is used. Additional money can be added to the account. Deposits can be made by credit or debit card. Cash accounts are associated with your NetID, so each individual may only have one cash account.
See our Add Money to a Net-Print Cash Account article. Your account is created the first time you follow the steps to add money; there is no separate "create an account" procedure.
To access the Net-Print Add Money page, you need to be connected to the Cornell network, or use the CU VPN service to connect remotely.
Course Accounts and Departmental Accounts
Course accounts are for students in courses that provide printing allocations. The instructor sets up the account and provides students with access. Printing fees are billed monthly to the department or unit.
Departmental accounts are for use by staff and faculty in a particular department or unit. Printing fees are billed monthly to the department or unit.
Please read the Net-Print Terms and Conditions before signing up for any Net-Print account.
