Mac Net-Print Problem: No Opportunity to Select Account and Printing Fails

When attempting to print to a Net-Print printer from a Mac, you are not presented with the Print Job Notification dialog box where you can specify which account to use, and your document does not print.

Cause

The most likely cause is that when you installed the Net-Print software, you didn't grant a needed permission.

Solving the Problem

  1. Open your Mac's System Preferences.
  2. Click User & Groups.
  3. Click Login Items on the right.
    (Some people accidentally click "Login Options." That's wrong.)
    You'll see a list of items set to run when you log in to your Mac.
  4. If you see PCClient listed, this is not the solution you are looking for. Please contact the IT Service Desk and tell them you tried this procedure.
    If you do NOT see PCClient listed, continue with these steps.
  5. Click the plus sign below the list of items.
  6. Click Applications.
  7. Click PCClient.app in the list of applications.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Close System Preferences.

You will need to log out of your computer and back in (or restart it) for the change to take effect.
