3Play Media Human Captioning Terms and Conditions

This article applies to: Video Accessibility and Captioning

  • The human captioning customer (specifically, the individual in a department or group who is designated as account owner) will be billed directly by 3Play Media for captioning services. The customer is responsible for payment of charges in a timely manner. This billing relationship exists directly between 3Play Media and the customer.

  • The human captioning service through 3Play Media is intended primarily for groups or departments with ongoing captioning needs. Occasional one-off requests can be handled by CIT and re-billed to customer.

  • Accounts with 3Play Media are initially set up with one individual designated to be the account owner. Contact the IT Service Desk to ask about other arrangements.

  • The assigned tags issued by 3Play Media for requesting human captioning of media should be shared only within your department or group. Use of the tags to request captioning still requires approval by the account owner or an authorized administrator—but, as an extra precaution to avoid unauthorized charges for captioning services, staff working with media should never share the tags outside their department of group.

  • The account owner is fully responsible for human captioning approvals. Use in Video on Demand (VOD) of the unique tags that have been assigned to your department to request captioning will generate an approval notification to the account owner or administrators who have been assigned the approval role for your 3Play Media account. An approver must authorize all captioning requests generated from tagged VOD content.

  • The account owner is fully responsible for authorizing any additional approvers / billing administrators for their account, and for keeping these administrators’ access up-to-date (for example, removing users who leave Cornell). Please be aware that 3Play Media accounts are not behind Cornell authentication, but use direct vendor login.
