Add Alias (COEA) Address to Google Workspace Account

If you have a Cornell Optional Email Alias (a name-based version of your NetID address), you can set your Google Workspace account to send messages that come from either address.

  1. While signed in to your Google Workspace account, click the gear icon at the upper-right, then select Settings.
  2. Click Accounts and Import.
  3. In the Send mail as section, click Add another email address. A dialog box will open.
  4. Enter the name you want displayed and your COEA address. Leave Treat as an alias checked.
  5. Click Next Step. The dialog box will close and you'll see your COEA address added to the Send mail as section.
  6. (optional) To make your COEA address the default, click make default to the right of the COEA address.

When you compose new messages, the message will appear to come from whichever address you have made the default. To change the From address for a single message, click anywhere on your name and address on the From line, then select the desired address.
