Why Use Teams File Storage?
This article applies to: File Storage at Cornell, Microsoft Document Storage, Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is designed for easy collaboration on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. You can edit your document right inside Teams, in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint on the web. Or you can use the full version of the apps and changes will be automatically saved back to the original stored in Teams. Regardless of where you work, you can take advantage of Microsoft’s rich reviewing and commenting functionality.
In addition to Microsoft documents, Teams can store and display a wide variety of other file types, such as image, PDF, data, and HTML. You can organize the Files section by creating folders and moving files where you want them.
Powerful document management features, like the ability to revert to an earlier version of the document, are there if you need them, because Teams is powered by SharePoint and can take advantage of its extended feature set.
Best of all, you don't have to worry about setting permissions for your Teams documents, because they automatically match whatever team or private channel you are in.
To try Teams file storage, just drag a file into a chat box or click the paper clip icon and upload your file.
