Login Security Options for Desktop Everywhere

How to choose between standard versus security enhanced login options for Desktop Everywhere

This article applies to: Desktop Everywhere

Standard

The Standard tier of service meets the needs of most users. It's a secure, stable environment suitable for your day-to-day work.

Security Enhanced

The Security Enhanced tier is appropriate for users who need to work with confidential data such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, driver's license numbers, and bank account numbers. University employees who work with these kinds of data are required to take extra precautions to keep it secure. The Security Enhanced tier requires Two-Step Login; you will receive an email to sign up for Two-Step Login when you are signing up for the Security Enhanced tier.

The sign-up process includes questions to determine whether you should use the Standard or Security Enhanced tier. For more information, see our Sign up for Desktop Everywhere page.
