Cloud Forum 2017

Registration includes a survey so that we can collect and share information about cloud strategies at each of the institutions attending the forum. We will present the data at the beginning of the Forum. We hope the information we gather and present will add perspective and will result in deeper discussion and engagement. The survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.
The Cloud Forum is an open and collaborative environment to discuss organizational challenges and transitions occurring in higher education due to changes in technology. The Forum is an opportunity to focus on strategy and direction rather than a technical deep dive centered on specific technical solutions. We welcome anyone from your dev-ops evangelist and change agent to your CIO and hope all who attend will be ready to engage in active discussion!

Why: The goals of this forum are to:
Help establish and document best practices for institutions making a move from on-premise servers to cloud providers.
Share the cultural, organizational, and technical challenges unique to higher education as we move from on-premise data centers to cloud-hosted technology.
Create a network of knowledgeable individuals at our schools for ongoing discussions, questions, and collaboration.

Taxes and Service Charges
Room rates are subject to prevailing NYS sales tax, currently 8%, and local occupancy tax, currently 5% (total 13%). Food and beverage, as well as all hotel purchases, are subject to NYS sales tax, currently 8%.
If your organization is tax exempt or your attendees will be traveling using a New York State tax-exempt certificate, we can accept the following forms of payment: corporate check, credit card, or direct bill (direct bill application required) if paid by the organization or cash.
A service charge of 18% is applied to all private food and beverage functions, and is subject to NYS sales tax. Taxes and service charges are subject to change.
Guest Parking/Airport Transportation
There is a parking fee for vehicles parked at the facility, currently $12 per night per vehicle. Parking fees are subject to change. Parking is limited to overnight guests. Please discuss day guest parking needs with your Catering/Conference Planning Manager as we are limited in our ability to provide day parking for events. Prior arrangements are necessary and subject to availability. A day guest parking fee will be applicable.
The Statler Hotel provides shuttle service to and from the Tompkins County Airport 7 days per week. This complimentary service features a 10-passenger van. Advance reservations are required and can be arranged thru your Catering/Conference Planning Manager or by contacting our Reservations Department.
Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and checkout time is 12:00 p.m. Guests arriving before 3:00 p.m. will be assigned rooms as they become available. Guests not checked out by the checkout time will be charged an additional night’s stay per published rates.
All guestrooms will be held until October 25, 2017. All reservation requests after cut-off will be handled on a space-available basis at prevailing rates. Rooms performance (attrition) charges may apply to unused rooms after cut off. See Rooms Performance Attrition.
