Set Up a Conference Call

This article applies to: Conference Calling

Conference Calling allows you to have a group audio conversation on your campus analog, digital, or VoIP phone.  Analog phones allow up to 3 parties per session and digital or VoIP phones allow up to 6 parties per session.

Departments may select on-demand, fee based conference services supporting multiple parties and toll free access by selecting Commercial Providers.

Analog Instructions To add a party to a call:
  • Depress switchhook or flash
  • Hear recall dial tone
  • Dial third party
  • Depress switchhook or flash after party answers
To drop the last party added:
  • Depress switchhook
Note: The person initiating the call can only add one more party (for a total of three), but the second person can also add one more party, and so on, up to a maximum of six total extensions. See Commercial Providers if you need to make a conference call with more than six parties.
Digital/VoIP Instructions To add a party to a call:
  • Press Conference
  • Hear dial tone
  • Dial party
  • Press Conference after party answers
  • Press Conference to bring all party members together
To drop the last party added:
  • Press Drop

Note: If no answer or busy, press Held Call Appearance

Note: The person initiating the call can add up to five additional parties (for a total of six). See Commercial Providers if you need to make a conference call with more than six parties.
