Sources for Images

Media Browser

There are several folders of images stored in the Media Browser of the site. Go to the Content menu in Drupal and select Media Browser. Continue to Root > Media Folders. You will find several folders to choose from. This is also where you upload an image that you wish to ADD.

CAM Dashboard

Cornell offers a source for images with their Dashboard.

StockPhotoSecrets

We have an account with StockPhotoSecrets that allows us to download up to 200 images a year. As our membership is limited, please be sure to only download the image(s) you plan to use. (Password is available as a box note in our Comm & Doc Team in box: StockPhotoSecrets.boxnote.)

Comm & Doc Team Image Folder

There is a folder of images in our Comm & Doc Team folder in Box. (Comm & Doc Team > Images and Photos).

Recommended Image Sizes

Full page News Article or Landing Page

The featured image should be a minimum of 832 x 520 pixels.

NOTE: If the image is also going to be used as a link on the CIT home page, it will be cropped to a smaller size. Be sure that the most important area of the image is centered. Or you can designate the area you want centered, while loading the image in edit mode.

Minimum for Any Other Image Use

480 x 480 pixels.

Add Media/Image to Your Page

Once you've prepared the image, it can then be added to your page in one of two ways:

WCAG AA compliance and Accessibility Guidelines

In the process of adding the image, you will be asked to provide Alternate Text, which makes content easier to understand, and helps people orient themselves to the content on your webpage.
