Description of standard Windows and Mac computer builds available to Cornell staff.

We offer standard configurations of Apple and Windows laptops and desktops. Please see the list below. If these systems do not meet your needs, please include a business case and a manager's approval with your request. 

Windows Systems

Desktop

Dell Optiplex 5050 - This system comes in three Form Factors: Micro, Small, and Mini-Tower.
The specifications and price are the same for all three. Does not include monitor.

Laptop

Dell Latitude 7280 - At 12.5" and 2.6 pounds, this laptop's advantage is portability.

Dell Latitude 7480 - At 14" and 3.1 pounds, this laptop's advantage is screen size.

External Display and Accessories

Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor - U2415 24" Widescreen Monitor, works with all computers listed above. 

Dell Thunderbolt Dock - TB16. For use with Dell Latitude laptops listed above.

Desktop

iMac - 27" screen

Laptop

MacBook Pro 15 - 15" High-resolution display, 4.5 pounds.

MacBook Pro 13 - 13" High-resolution display, 3.0 pounds, USB-C ports only.

External Display and Accessories

Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor - U2415 24" Widescreen Monitor, works with all computers listed above. 

USB-A to Ethernet - To connect the network over a wire. Works with 15" Mac.

Mini-Display Port to HDMI - To connect an external monitor. Works with 15" Mac.

USB-C to Ethernet - To connect the network over a wire. Works with 13" Mac.

USB-C to VGA - To connect to VGA monitor or projector. Works with 13" Mac.

USB-C to HDMI multiport adapter - To connect an external monitor, to USB-A, and to USB-C. Works with 13" Mac

USB-C to USB-A - Works with 13" Mac
