Changes to Alumni Email Handling
In July and August 2019, some changes were made to alumni email handling. These changes reduce the amount of infrastructure Cornell needs to devote to email, lowering demand on university resources.
Most alumni will not notice anything different. The most significant change will be for alumni who accept email at their NetID@cornell.edu address and automatically forward it on to an outside account, such as a personal Gmail, AOL, or Yahoo account.
- If you do not forward Cornell email to an outside account: You don't need to do anything. Thank you for your time!
- If you do automatically forward Cornell email to a personal account: You should have received an email letting you know how to update your forwarding. If you didn't receive this message, please contact the IT Service Desk for assistance.
